WHAT'S GOING ON
Air Transat is currently in negotiations with its pilots. If a deal isn’t reached by December 10, there is a possibility of a strike or a lock out of the pilots.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU
At this moment, nothing definite has been announced and the airline’s schedule is still showing as normal. That said, we know you have questions and a bit of worry — totally understandable.
HERE'S WHAT WE'RE MONITORING AND WHAT TO EXPECT
• If the airline were to announce a work stoppage (or be locked out) while you’re in destination, there may be a disruption to your return flight, or you could be asked to change to an alternate date or route.
• In past situations, airlines have offered to waive fees for changes or allowed refunds closer to the time of announced strikes.
• Because nothing has been confirmed yet, we cannot guarantee exactly what will happen until a decision is made.
• Our team has pulled all files departing within 2 weeks of this date and is watching this very closely. We’ll contact you right away if any official changes affect your flight.
WHAT WE RECOMMEND YOU DO NOW
• Download the Transat App to ensure you can access real-time updates.
• Make sure your contact information with us is correct so we can reach you quickly. Notification will usually go out by email first unless your travel is imminent. Be sure to add us to your safe sender list or ensure you check your junk mail regularly.
• Continue with your regular travel plans — unless we advise otherwise.
• We’ll send an update as soon as we have clear information from the airline or the tour operator.
